ABOUT THE ARTIST

DAN SEATON BROWN


Dan Seaton Brown is a nationally recognized illustrator, designer and fine artist hailing from the lakeside community of Minnetonka, MN where he grew up waterskiing, playing sports and enjoying summer vacations on cross-country family road trips. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire where he also completed an Independent Study in Oil Painting in 1993.


After graduation he returned to Minneapolis where he worked in the thriving ad industry and shortly thereafter began a career as a freelance commercial artist, producing works for such brands as Coca-Cola, Domino’s, General Mills, Dairy Queen, The Special Olympics and more. Among his illustrative accomplishments he has created artwork for an array of children’s books which have been honored with various awards including a nomination for the prestigious Caldecott.



In 1999 he moved to LA and continued his education in Fine Art learning classical methods and later instructing for a short time. During this period he had several one man shows and participated in numerous group exhibitions. Meanwhile he became an avid hiker with many hours in the San Gabriel and Sierra Nevada mountain ranges including summiting Mt. Whitney. In 2020 He returned to his hometown in MN where is a Marketing Executive and continues his creative works on the side. He still enjoys running and waterskiing as the finer joys in life along with playing the guitar, mountain biking and outdoor pond hockey in the winters. 


He has artwork in an international collection and his works have been covered in radio, T.V., print and on the internet by such outlets as The Los Angeles Times, Google News, C-Span’s Book TV, Celebrity Magazine, Fine Art News Matters and scores more.


Did I forget to mention he's also an excellent dancer....?
